ALUMINUM SHIPMENT CONTINUES!

The resumption of exports with a total volume of 15 thousand tons takes place after 10 years.

The return of aluminum is the result of a partnership between the companies G5 Logística, the Dutch logistics operator Steinweg and the Australian mining company South32, one of the shareholders of the Alumar Consortium.

From 2001 to 2013, when the last shipment of aluminum took place at the Port of Itaqui, 2.1 million tons of cargo were exported through the Maranhão port.

The resumption of aluminum cargo is a very important initiative for Maranhão and we have many positive prospects for the sector with a shipment forecast of around 100 to 150 thousand, for the year 2024.
